Of course we are all subtle, nuanced, hypocritical, compromised beings. But sometimes something happens that throws into stark monochrome the fundamental problems in our society. The tragic fire in Grenfell tower was such an event. 72 people died in an avoidable tragedy in one of Britain’s richest boroughs.
